Dealing with entrusted money and goods
Compass of organizational values and culture
The Board of Herrnhuter Missionshilfe (HMH) adopted a Code of Conduct on July 1, 2022. As HMH, we are active in various regions of the world, and the Moravian Mission has been active since 1732, both of which are reflected in this document. Our Code of Conduct is intended to serve as a compass that provides guidance and support to act in accordance with our organizational culture and values.
Our Code of Conduct sets out how HMH employees (and their project partners) should behave in the face of ethical conflict. The focus here is on the often unreflective use of power. Conflicts arise in the course of corruption, in dealing with children and other groups that are vulnerable in body, soul and spirit. Furthermore, power is exercised in the presentation of history and in communication, and this power needs to be reflected upon. This document offers assistance in this regard.
