Herrnhuter Missionshilfe (HMH) is the Moravian mission Society in Germany.
We are a registered association, the statutes are available for download.
Our mission is to create hope. We do this together with the local provinces of the Moravian Church and other local partners in partnership in 9 countries worldwide with about 60 projects.
We maintain contacts with people in many countries, especially in Tanzania and Zanzibar, Malawi, Zambia, Palestine, North India, Albania, Nicaragua, Honduras and Suriname.
With a small staff of about 10 employees, a large circle of friends and numerous volunteers - we as Herrnhuter Missionshilfe contribute to spreading the good news of Jesus Christ in word and deed.
Our concern is the individual person, his or her place in the community, and helping people to help themselves.
Live self-determined with dignity
To this goal, we are sustainably committed to medical and social care, technical support, e.g. in the areas of IT and school equipment, as well as solar power plants for electricity generation and environmental projects.
We promote schooling and vocational training by equipping secondary schools and vocational training centers and granting scholarships. We support the study of theology.
In acute emergencies, we provide unbureaucratic emergency aid.
We arrange volunteer work for young people and adults and invite them on encounter trips.
Furthermore, we support churches and groups in Germany that are active in missionary work.
We are integrated in a network of different mission and aid organizations, especially in the network of the worldwide Moravian Church.

We base our mission on the ethical and moral basis of hope, respect, cooperation. These values shape the organizational culture and the projects we create with local partners.
Our mission aims neither at the numerical growth of the church nor at increasing its power and influence, but at the salvation and well-being of the individual.
It means holistic, loving, unconditional and binding care from person to person.
This has been the basic concern from the beginning.
Fair trade as help for self-help
We pursue this concern with fair trade products under the name "Moravian Merchandise". Because fair trade is help for self-help.
Moravian Merchandise helps people in various countries of the world to earn a fair income and in this way creates hope.

structure, finances and service
According to the statutes, the work of Herrnhuter Missionshilfe is in the responsibility of a board of directors, which serves for four years. It meets about ten times a year.
The members of the Board of Directors work on a voluntary basis and receive no remuneration for their activities. The board currently has seven members and six permanent advisors.
